I believe in having a blanket in your car just in case, using fresh ingredients while cooking, being there to hold and comfort someone whenever possible, always having chocolate available for emergencies, being prepared for guests, that human relationships are a way to measure your success, and loving unconditionally.

uniteclothing: At this very moment I’m sitting down in the Unite Clothing office drinking a cup of coffee. I have a meeting I think in (checking)… an hour and a half? This is probably one of the few times I’ve had a chance to sit back and think about all the amazing things we have been doing here at Unite…

“Poverty is the absence of all human rights. The frustrations, hostility and anger generated by abject poverty cannot sustain peace in any society. For building stable peace we must find ways to provide opportunities for people to live decent lives.” “Once poverty is gone, we’ll need to build museums to display its horrors to future generations. They’ll wonder why poverty continued so...

Slut Shaming and why it's wrong →
This is something I have a personal problem with. I am hugely guilty of it and have been victim to it as well. My New years resolution was to love more and that begins with the people I judge the most.  Watch this video now. I was put in my place by a 13 year old.

One day after a large storm, tens of thousands of starfish were washed up on the beach above the high tide line. An old man was casually wandering along the beach picking up the creatures and placing them back into the ocean. A young boy, upon witnessing this occurring for some time, approached the old man.“Hey Mister, Do you know how many starfish there are on this beach?” inquired the boy. “I...

There is a serial killer in Santa Ana who is preying on homeless people. 3 are already dead. Yesterday Unite Clothing took donations to get at risk people off the streets and into a safe hotel room for the night. Seanloui, Francis and camera crew went to several hotels and asked them to bring down their rates so we could be able to house more people.  A 7 Crowns Motel actually told us “we...

Rules to live by
Choose to Live your Life on your terms. Get outta your head. Dress up. Eat. Be generous with compliments. Say ‘Please’ and ‘Thank You’. Fight the good fight. Love people unconditionally. Give yourself away-there’s more where it came from. This too shall pass. Relax. You’re going to die one day, we all do. You’re stronger than you think you are. Throw a...

Calling
Last night was certainly a life changing one. By 8pm I had finished working both jobs and had two meetings with my Unite family about our plans for 2012 (which by the way are HUGE and I am beyond excited). Anyway, I went to Target to get one of my senior ladies some things that she needed for today and as I was leaving I was approached by a homeless girl about my age. I am more than accustomed to...
